Akshay Kumar, who is gearing up to bring Housefull 4 - the fourth installment in the Housefull franchise on the big screen, has turned rapper this time, if a report is to be believed. The actor has earlier sung in films like Singh is Kinng (2008), Special 26 (2013) and Entertainment (2014).
According to Mid-Day, Akshay will now make his rap debut with the title track of Housefull 4, directed by Farhad Samji.
"Farhad Samji, who was one of the directors of Entertainment, had convinced Akshay to croon the title track for the comedy. This time too, it was his idea that Akki (Akshay) explore his rapping skills. Producer Sajid Nadiadwala jumped at the idea. The producer-director duo then convinced their leading man to give his nod," a source told the daily.
"The Tanishk Bagchi composition is yet to be recorded. The makers are yet to decide if it should be a solo track or one that sees Akshay croon alongside Mika Singh," the source added.
Apart from Akshay, Housefull 4 has an ensemble cast comprising Riteish Deshmukh, Bobby Deol, Kriti Kharbanda, Pooja Hedge and Kriti Sanon.
The film also stars Rana Daggubati, Johnny Lever, Jamie Lever, Chunky Panday, Nawazuddin Siddiqui, Boman Irani and Rajpal Yadav in key roles.
Produced by Sajid Nadiadwala, Housefull 4 will hit the screens on Diwali this year.
